Governance's Mission is simple; bringing solutions to local governments.

Governance's advocacy plan can be succinctly stated. We only represent the best clients, using the best team to advocate. The principals at Governance have all experienced successful careers in government, and, as such, are interested only in bringing the best products or issues to the governmental arena. By combining a good product with a thorough knowledge of the governmental process, the Governance team can bring real results quickly to the table. If you have an outstanding product, project, or solution for local, state, or federal government, we can assist in bringing it to the right people. We can also help guide you through the regulatory processes, and give you the benefit of our years of service in the public policy arena to avoid adverse governmental action.

Pinnacle Housing

In 2003 the City of Tallahassee struggled to find upscale attractive affordable housing for its residents. Governance Inc. brought in Pinnacle Housing to partner with the Tallahassee Housing Authority. Together, the team successfully applied for Federal tax credits and replaced an aging dilapidated Federal housing complex with a new state of the art facility that is recognized nationally as a model affordable housing community.

The Floridan Hotel

As Florida began to define itself as a state, Tallahassee, the state capital, began to boom. The center of this activity was the grand Floridan Hotel. A beautiful edifice, it soon became the place where business and politics intersected in a social setting. As the years wore on, however, it fell in disrepair – and was finally demolished in the 1980’s. The city of Tallahassee desired to rebuild that Florida landmark and sought qualified developers to partner with. Governance assisted the McKibbon Hotel Group by navigating the RFP process and facilitating the discussions between the city, county and community redevelopment agency. The result was McKibbon Hotels gaining the sole right to build a grand hotel and office complex. The hotel flies the Aloft brand, but combines modern technology and efficiencies with a grandeur often associated with yester year. The hotel’s name? – The Floridan of course.
